How do I receive my username?
The INT nTact Data Backup account username is proposed by the registrant at the time of registration. Once registration is completed, an email is sent to your subscribed email address as well. Usernames are unique, and cannot be recycled.

Is the username case sensitive?
No, username is not a case sensitive field, but password is case sensitive.
What does LockDown mode mean to me?
This is a feature which can be selected at the time of creating your backup account. When creating an account in LockDown mode, the password is irretrievable. For normal accounts, if ever customers forget their passwords, they can still get the passwords mailed to them by going to https://myaccount.managedoffsitebackup.net and answering the “Forgot Password” question the answer to which is provided at the time of registration. Under LockDown mode, your data remains secure, but cannot be retrieved by any means in case of a lost password.
Is the password case sensitive?
Yes, passwords are case sensitive. Passwords must be more than 6 characters long.
Can you backup Exchange and SQL?
Yes. You can make a point-in-time or scheduled backup file, by using the built-in back-up tool within the SQL
Server or Exchange Server. For more information, select the appropriate link:
Mark a folder for backup by INT nTact Data Backup. Then, copy the backed up files into the folder. Be sure to name the specific day's file the same each time, (do not name with a time/date stamp). If you do so, the session file will be seen as a version of the previous file, and will not count against the account's size usage.
Can you back up open files?
Yes. The INT nTact Data Backup provides full back-up capabilities for open files associated with the
majority of software programs. However, some files cannot be backed up directly, for example: SQL,
Exchange, SAGE, Intuit Quickbooks or Quicken, and MYOB files.

How do I know that my data is safe?
Safe from Loss:
Your data is backed up to INT's data centers, which are then backed up to a redundant site. Unless the data is lost on the local drive, the data server, and the redundant server simultaneously —a highly unlikely occurrence—your data will be preserved.
Safe from Hacking:
INT's three-stage encryption protects your data. Your data is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption, (the US Department of Defense's standard for encryption), before it leaves your local drive. Your data is compressed using a proprietary compression tool, and is transmitted through a 128-bit encrypted SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) link.
The session packets are digital differences of the changed files from one day to another. So, they are not only encrypted, but unintelligible without the original file. Upon arrival at the data center, the session packets are compared to the original files, encrypted again, filed under the appropriate version number, and date stamped.

How will I know that my data has been backed up?
You will see an INT logo, (a red-orange icon), flashing in your taskbar when your backup is active. To view
the details of your currently running backup, right-click on the INT icon and select "Show Currently Running
Backup." At the end of the data transfer, you will be able to see the status log of the backup process, and
can use this log to confirm that you data transfer is complete. You can see the details of the backed-up
files by viewing the "Upload Agent."
When the backup process is running, orange icons will appear beside the files. When the files have been successfully backed up, the icon will turn blue. If a backup is unsuccessful, the icon will turn red. Note: the indication is at the file level, meaning that you can have backed-up files, back-ups in progress, and files that have not been backed up, simultaneously. You can choose to receive an email report confirming a successful backup.
Within the nTact software, there are several options for file recovery. Go to "Wizard View" to:
- Select "Restore Online" to recover your files and verify the successful upload to our data center.
- Log into "My Account" and look for your files there.
- Choose the "Recover/Share" option available on the "My Account" website.

What kind of reporting can I use?
INT nTact Data Backup provides several types of reporting on the status of a customer's backup:
- While running a backup session, you can view the status of the backup. When a backup session is active, the Upload Agent flashes "IMAGE" in your computer's taskbar. Right-click on the icon and select "Show Currently Running Backup." A yellow icon will appear next to your file, indicating that it is still performing the backup. A blue icon will appear next to your file, indicating that the backup has finished.
- You can request email reports to be sent to multiple email addresses. In "Wizard View," you can configure your "Email Backup Reports" in Step 3 of setting up your backup. To enter multiple email addresses, simply separate them with a comma. In "Classic View," (accessible through the "Advanced" drop-down list, at the top right corner of the nTact Software window), navigate to the "Options" tab, choose "Email Backup Reports," and provide an email address.
- Backup history is also available by navigating 3. to Classic View > Options > Backup History.
Wizard View
From the Wizard menu, click on "Restore Online." This refreshes the list of files from the INT server. Select the date of backup for the files that you want to view. Click "Next." The Explorer Tree-View will appear on the next screen, allowing you to access and view the files you have uploaded, within their respective folder locations.
Classic View
Select the "Storage View" tab. Click on "Refresh Data From Server" at the right side of the application window. This will obtain the list of files from the server, and bring up the Explorer Tree-View, allowing you to access and view the files you have uploaded, within their respective folder locations.

How does data arrive at the INT data center?
nTact uses SSL (Secure Socket Layers) over the Internet. You must have Internet access to use
online backup.
My Account Portal (Web-Based)
Go to https://myaccount.managedoffsitebackup.net. Enter your Username and Password. Select the "Online Recover" tab, and click on "Recover." In the subsequent screens, you will be able to native through folders to access and view the files you have uploaded.
We provide another service called "PMU (Physical Media Upload) Service." We will send you a hard disk onto which you can upload your data and send it back to INT. We will then upload your data onto our server in a secure manner. Note: when a PMU is in progress, you should not backup your files.

Where are your data centers located?
Our data centers are located in several countries, including: the USA, Australia, England, and India.
How long will it take to back up my data?
Several factors can affect the time required to complete a backup, including:
- How many files are being backed up
- The amount of new data being backed up
- The Internet connection speed
- The types of files being backed up. (This relates to the files' compressibility. Some files, such as word processing files, compress better than others.)
Can I backup VMware and Virtual PC files?
Yes. nTact Data Backup supports secure VMware and Virtual PC file backup. nTact does not
recognize a difference between a normal file and a Virtual PC or VMware file, and it adheres to
the same processes when backing up both types of files.
What Windows platforms does nTact™ support?
nTact supports any Windows-based platforms in which .NET 1.1 or higher is supported—specifically, nTact
supports Windows 2000 or later. At this time, nTact cannot support Linux/Unix OS or Mac OS.
Can I schedule my backup?
You have the ability to schedule a backup on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and you can reschedule
your backup at any time. You can change a scheduled backup for a standalone PC or an in-network PC, and you can
even schedule your network PC's to backup when users are not logged in.
Does nTact™ always run in the background?
Yes. You must engage nCrypt for files to be updated regularly, and nTact will update the change of files each time
the files are updated and saved. Background backup is possible when either a scheduled backup or manual backup
is performed.
What happens if my computer crashes and I need access to my data?
If you have an internet connection, you can always access your data. You can gain access by going to
https://myaccount.managedoffsitebackup.net or by using INT nTact Data Backup on the computer of your choice. Just enter your
Username and Password.
Can I install nTact™ software on more than one computer and use the same account?
Yes. You can install nTact software on more than one computer and log into the same account on different
computers. Your data from different computers will be backed up on both, under each computer's machine
name. You can easily restore data from one machine to another; however, your total backup size for all the
computers' data should not exceed your subscribed storage size.
How long will it take to restore my data?
The time required to restore data depends on the total size of the files being restored, and the download
speed of your internet connection.
Can you backup QuickBooks?
After you have invoked the software's native backup utilities, you can freely backup files like those from
Quickbooks, Sage, and others, using nTact. INT nTact Data Backup software will backup the folders
containing these files.
Do you have a central console so I can monitor and backup multiple computers or servers at once?
As long as your total backup is within the storage size purchased, you can establish multiple accounts, (on
multiple computers), for monitoring purposes.
Can nTact™ back up a System State?
Because nTact Data Backup is a data file backup service, it does not support backing up a system state.
However, if you take a point-in-time image of your system state, and file that image in a folder marked for
backup by nTact, you will be able to protect your system state.
Can nTact™ do a complete system restore?
As nTact cannot back up the system state, it cannot support a complete system restore. However, you can take a
point-in-time snapshot of the system state and mark that file for backup protection through Windows. This will
backup an image of the system state, and allow you to restore your system if required.
However, you can take a point-in-time snapshot of the system state and mark that file for backup protection through Windows. This will effectively back up an image of the system state, allowing you to restore your system if required.

Can you send me a drive if my computer crashes and how long until I can recover my data?
Yes. Normally, the data will be dispatched within one business day. However, depending upon the Partner's
arrangement, there may be a cost involved in sending a drive to the user. Alternatively, we can help you set up
a secure FTP link where you can download your files. One of INT's support staff will need to conduct a remote
session to log the user onto the FTP link and initiate the download.
Can I get access to my files at any time?
Yes. You may access your files at any time, any day, and anywhere that you have an available internet
connection.
How many versions of my data are kept?
nTact guards every version of each backed up file, until you actively delete it from the data server.
Can I choose how many versions to keep?
INT nTact Data Backup does not support setting the number of versions stored. However, you can delete
specific versions of a file, or delete a file from the backup server. If you do not wish the file to be backed up
again, you may uncheck the file from the list of protected files and folders.
Do my versions count against my backup space?
The total space of the files, as they existed on your local drive at the time of backup, is calculated against the amount
of space used in your account. Versions will not be counted against the backup space. However, the largest-sized
version will count toward storage size, even if a later version is smaller. If a file's most recent version has been
significantly reduced in size, it may be best to delete the older, larger version of the file.
What if I need more space?
You can upgrade your account anytime, by logging into your account at https://myaccount.managedoffsitebackup.net.

Is nTact™ Data Backup cost-competitive?
The security, usability, and efficiency of nTact makes our product a cost-competitive market leader. With nTact, you
are only paying a small monthly fee to ensure the safety of your important data. Various pricing strategies are used
in the industry, and you will find that you cannot get more for your money anywhere else. nTact achieves a level of
backup efficiency and security that our competitors cannot, and INT empowers you with the confidence that you
will be able to completely recover any lost data and/or files.
I can go and buy a Network Attached Storage Device and backup everything. Why is nTact™ better?
Locally network based backup can be useful, and INT nTact™ Data Backup software is able to accommodate Local Backup. However, without having redundant hard drives and offsite storage, you will truly only have a Storage service and not a true Backup Service. You may be able to store your data in the NAS, but if anything were to happen locally to the data (disaster, media corruption, electrical mishap, etc.); the data could be rendered irretrievable. With INT nTact Data Backup, you can count on automatic
backup, offsite storage, fully versioned archived files, and data backup.
Can your program run when idle?
Your computer will need to wake from a Hibernation or Sleep State to begin a scheduled nTact Data Backup.
To do this, nTact utilizes the Windows Task Scheduler services. You can edit the Windows Task Scheduler for
nTact by creating a scheduled backup within your nTact software, and then following the steps below:
- Go to Start > Program Files > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks
- Right click on the INT nTact Data Backup icon
- On the Task tab, set the Windows Account Password
- On the Settings tab, check "Wake the computer to run this task"

Can I have more than one username on each backup account?
Only one username per backup account is permitted. A username must be unique to each backup account. A
username cannot be re-used or recycled for other nTact Data Backup accounts.
