Import Folder Info Into New Exchange Mailbox

After migrating to your new hosted Exchange mailbox your Contacts and Calendar are empty, Use the following steps to import data from your previous folders: The import process may take a few moments, depending on the amount of data that have to be imported.

1. Open Outlook
2. Select File > Import and Export.

The Import and Export Wizard will open.
3. In the Import and Export Wizard window, select Import from another program or file and press next.

4. In the Import a File window, select Personal Folder File (.pst) and press next.

5. In the Import Personal Folders window, click on Browse The default location of the PST file is

C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst
Choose to Allow or Replace Duplicates
6. Navigate to the location where you have stored your e-mail backup, select the ".pst" file and press Open.

7. Now, you will return to the Import Personal Folders window. Press Next and the importing procedure will start.

NOTE: The import process may take a few moments depending on the amount of data that has to be imported.

Once you have imported the data into the Mailbox, the Exchange Server will begin the upload of data to the server. Depending upon your upload speeds and the amount of data being imported, this could take several hours.

During the import of the PST file, Outlook Web Access can be used to Send/Receive new mail.
