Global Address List Search Using the OWA Search Tool

This tool will allow you to conduct searches against your Global Address List (GAL) and regain some of the functionality lost due to the system's LDAP Server being inaccessible.

To use this application, please make sure your Mac meets the following requirements:

1. A fully patched copy of Entourage 2004 or 2008.
2. One or more hosted Exchange accounts.
3. An available network connection.

Installation Instructions:

1. Visit the following URL and save the file to your desktop: http://www.xutils.com/owagalsearch/owagalsearch_1.3.dmg

2. When the file is downloaded to your desktop, click "open". It should appear as shown here:

The applications folder can be accessed by going to the GO menu and then selecting the applications option as shown.

3. Open the file named "OWA GAL Search" and drag it into the applications folder.

4. The application will now be installed and available for use. If you want to have it available from the dock you can drag the application from the applocations folder and a shortcut will be created automatically.

Running a Search:

1. Open Entourage and the newly installed search tool. At this time the search tool will locate all properly configured Exchange accounts.

2. Select the account you would like to search from the dropdown menu (shown below).

3. Type a name or part of a name into the search box and click search. The search function will search the GAL and return any results that match the search string you have entered. A sample search is shown below.

4. From the search results, you can take the following actions:

1. Add his listing to our personal address book.
2. Add his address as a BCC or CC to an existing email.
3. Compose a new email.
